What is our role ?

The role of the Athletes’ Commission is to represent active Athletes and to give them a voice in the governance of the European Weightlifting Federation, including providing advice to the Executive Board on matters affecting the EWF from the Athletes’ perspective. Proposals from the Athletes’ Commission will be tabled at the next Executive Board meeting for approval.

We work to ensure that athletes’ rights are respected in all EWF activities and propose changes when something is not right.

Commission members are present and visible at European championships and youth events, ready to listen and help.

When to contact
Athletes Commission?

If someone is putting you under pressure, treating you with disrespect, bullying you, abusing you or discriminating against you, you can write to us in full confidence. We will listen, take you seriously, and help you find a safe and clear way to act.

If you have ideas about how competitions could be better – timetable, warm-up, equipment, travel, or services for athletes – send them to us and we’ll bring them forward to EWF as feedback from the athletes.
